‘We Stand Together’: Aleesia Johnson, Indianapolis Public Schools

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — In the past couple months, actions that have taken place in other parts of the country are now starting much-needed conversations. At WISH-TV, we are giving leaders and the community an opportunity to share their voice.

On Thursday night, Aleesia Johnson, the superintendent of Indianapolis Public Schools, chatted on News 8 at 10. She says, “You know I think what science tells us and what research tells us is that our children, at a very young age, start to notice, very naturally, the world around them. Differences and similarities between people, and that’s a perfect time to start having conversations about race.”
