Marion County still counting absentee ballots a day after polls close

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Marion County Election Board will still be counting ballots Thursday from Tuesday’s election.

Russell Hollis, deputy director of the Marion County Clerk’s Office, said they stopped counting absentee ballots at 7 p.m. Tuesday night, but still have about 23,000 to tally. The good news: the counting should end Thursday.

Through Wednesday, the board had counted 60,897 votes. The results so far were available on a my.indy.gov webpage.
