‘Gr8 Comeback’: Mikado adds ‘pandemic potstickers’ to menu

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Mikado Japanese Restaurant has been serving people in downtown Indianapolis for 23 years.

Owner Connie Lee says even though the COVID-19 pandemic has affected Mikado and a lot of other local restaurants, it’s been making it through because of loyal customers.

“We’ve got great customers (and) they just keep coming,” Lee said.

Lee says instead of feeling down about the challenges of the pandemic, the restaurant’s operators used it as motivation to create a new food item on its menu.

They’ve named their new pork potstickers the “pandemic potstickers.” They come served with a red chili oil sauce that Lee describes as “a little spicy.”

If you’d like to order from Mikado Japanese Restaurant, 148 S. Illinois St., for “contactless” carryout, call 317-972-4180. Hours are from noon-7:45 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
