‘Gr8 Comeback’: Post Road English Garden

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Post Road English Garden since 1997 has been a full-service flower shop serving the east side of Indianapolis with “unique designs and local charm.”

Owner Lisa Schwier says the shop has always focused on giving back to the Post Road community, but, this year, even with her business being slowed by the pandemic, it had to focus on that mission more than ever.

“We have a wonderful church across the street that came over and said ‘Do you guys want to partner up and do something great for our community?’ and I was all about it,” she said. “So we decided on a wonderful plant that people could have at their homes. We gave 300 of these (plants) out in the Post Road vicinity and it was greatly received.”

Schwier says now, more than ever, people need to look out for each other.

“People need to know that there are people that care, there are churches that care, there are businesses that care, (and) we’re here for them,” she said. “That’s what life is all about.”

She says it’s the same motivation that inspired them to make their “Christmas at Post Road English Garden” event bigger than ever. According to her, customers and fans of the shop’s annual holiday family event, have been wondering if it would still happen because of COVID-19.

“More than ever, we’re going to do it and do it big,” she said.

The shop is at 1105 N. Post Road.
