The 6th annual Hope Plumbing presents Tour de Coops will take place on Sunday, September 18th from 1-5 p.m.

Nap Town Chickens’ Andrew Brake & Anne Collins bring along a prized hen to preview this weekend’s event!

Last year’s event was a terrific success with over 600 people in attendance. Participants are encouraged to tour the 12 chicken coops in the northern neighborhoods of Broad Ripple, Butler-Tarkington, Meridian-Kessler and Rocky Ripple by bicycle but cars are still very welcome. The self-guided tour will start at Agrarian Urban Homestead and Supply (1051 E. 54h St., 46220). Maps, also serving as tickets, will be sold for $10/person at the on-site registration or can be obtained at a discounted rate of $5/person at www.naptownchickens.org. Kids are free. Anyone not paying taxes is considered a “kid.”

Nap Town Chickens will raffle off a chicken coop at Agrarian where there will also be a band, games and activities. BEAST food truck will be in attendance at Hope Plumbing where there

will also be an “Ol’ Fashioned Egg Toss Contest.”

Nap Town Chickens is an advocacy organization for urban chicken farming in Indianapolis. The goal is to encourage and educate “city folks” on backyard chicken farming and the benefits and enjoyment that can come of it.
