The 4th annual Rain on Main event takes place next week in the Carmel Arts and Design District.
From August 10 – 17, twenty local artists will paint 65 rain barrels to be displayed and judged for cash prizes. – 20 local artists paint 65 gallon rain barrels. There is a judged art competition with cash prizes.
Rain barrels are a container placed to collect rain water from a downspout/off the roof of your house. The water is held and can be used to water flowers or a garden, wash windows, wash dogs, etc.
You can vote in the People’s Choice competition by “liking” your favorite barrel at Rain on Main on Facebook. The People’s Choice competition ends at 12 p.m. on Friday, August 17.
A Silent Auction will be taking place on Saturday, August 18 at the Carmel Farmers Market from 8 – 11 a.m. The winners will get to take home their barrel that day, and the money raised goes to water quality education in Carmel Parks.
