Dan Patch Stakes trots into Hoosier Park Racing & Casino this weekend
The best in the sport of harness racing will take to the racetrack at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino!
The action begins Friday, August 14 for the 27th edition of the $225,000 Dan Patch Stakes. As part of a special weekend tagged as “Dan Patch Festival Weekend”, Hoosier Park will showcase some of the most notable names in harness racing alongside specialty wagers, food trucks, giveaways, and more!
Emily Gaskin, Race Marketing Manager, Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino, shares the details:
The Dan Patch Stakes is Hoosier Park’s signature race and also Indiana’s richest harness race. With combined career purse earnings over $10 million, the race includes four millionaires and three World Champions
The Dan Patch festivities will also include special giveaways in the winner’s circle, and a free water bottle for the first 500 guests to visit Trackside Caesars Rewards, beginning at 6 p.m.
In addition to food trucks and family fun, five lucky fans will be drawn to place a $100 win bet on the horse of their choice in the Dan Patch Stakes.
Indiana radio personality Laura Steele, as well as guest handicapper and racing analyst Peter Lurie, will be present for the race. Saturday will see live circus performances roaming around the property as well as a competitive live racing card.
