Felt monsters and other creations from Woven Dimensions

Jennifer Berger, an artisan from Zionsville who makes felted animals and whimsical creatures, will be exhibiting and selling her work at the Marketplace.

From farm and zoo animals to one-of-a-kind monsters, her enchanted forest of felted whimsies delights people of all ages. She has several new creations that will make their debut at the Marketplace including Mini Bunnie Ornaments, Fairy House Ornaments and a few new breeds of Doggie Ornaments!

First things I made felted 20 years ago were Christmas stockings and then it’s like well you need to have something to go with the stockings so I made ornaments and it just kind of went from there.”

At the Marketplace, art and food artisans demonstrate the creation of their work – potters throwing, painters painting, weavers weaving, and some exciting looks at candy making are just a glimpse of what’s in store when the state’s highest-quality artisans come together again for this event.

The Indiana Artisan Marketplace is a chance to buy one-of-a-kind artwork and artisan food directly from the Hoosiers who make it, to meet the artisans and to share their stories. Visitors will meet and talk with artisans, enjoy samples of the foods and wines and celebrate Indiana talent and creativity.

In 2010, a Resolution of the Indiana Legislature tasked Indiana Artisan with identifying, recognizing and promoting the state’s highest-quality art and foods. Its mission includes developing a brand that gives meaning and recognition to the highest-quality Indiana-made goods, now defined by the art and food of 296 Artisans in 63 Indiana counties.

Indiana Artisans include painters, woodworkers, winemakers, jewelry designers, weavers, makers of specialty cheeses and more. Executive Director Eric Freeman says, “An Indiana Artisan is a Hoosier recognized for careful attention to detail, knowledge of a craft and an entrepreneurial spirit. His or her talent contributes to Indiana’s reputation for quality work.”
