GeoFest returns to Indiana State Museum

It’s a gem, fossil and mineral show that features 22 vendors from all over the country, including bead and jewelry-makers, as well as vendors selling gems and fossils.

Here to explain are Peggy Fisherkeller, Curator of Geology, Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites, and Kittie Kubacki, Owner, Oh My! Jewelry (a vendor at GeoFest).

WHAT: GeoFest is a gem, fossil and mineral show featuring different vendors from all over the country selling wares for visitors to purchase. These include beautiful cut and uncut gems, giant geodes, incredible fossil specimens and more. Visitors can purchase loose minerals or gems, along with hand-crafted jewelry, beads and polished stones.
Throughout the three-day event, visitors can also enjoy interactive activities, including jewelry-making or creating their own pet rock. Families can explore Indiana’s ancient seas during “Paleozoic Scuba Diving,” where they’ll see how many creatures they can identify before their “air” runs out. Plus, while you’re here check out Rube Goldberg™: The World of Hilarious Invention! and FIX: Heartbreak and Hope Inside Our Opioid Crisis – both experiences are included with purchase of admission.
WHEN: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Feb. 21-23
WHERE: Indiana State Museum, 650 W. Washington St., Indianapolis
COST: Included with purchase of general museum admission; free for members
