This spring and summer, as our gardens and yards progress into full blossom. Let’s make sure that we keep safety a top priority.

Firefighter Tim says every year, thousands of people are injured in their yards. On today’s Indy Style, he shares a few safety tips that could ultimately, save a life.

How to be safe when doing yard work

Some scary statistics: About 4,000 people are injured from hedge trimmers, 100 Americans die from reactions to stings or insect bites.  220,00 Americans go to the hospital due to ladder falls.  80,000 head to the ER from lawn mower related injuries.  And 36,000 suffer from chainsaw related injuries. So this summer, Tim says, try not to become one of those statistics.
