I’m past puberty. Can I still grow? Well, kinda.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Okay, let’s be real. if you’re past puberty the answer is probably no–you can’t get taller. However, we can add an up to an inch of our height that has decreased due to poor posture.

In this Indy Style segment Firefighter Tim and I talk about what’s called “upper cross syndrome”–a condition where a person’s chest muscles are too tight resulting in rounded shoulders.

This means the back postural muscles–the rhomboids–are too loose meaning they need to be strengthened so the scapula bones lay flat against the ribcage as they should.

I also take Tim through a physical evaluation to see if he needs some postural improvement (hint: he does) and what Tim–and you–can do about it.
