Flamme Burger, Reigning Critic’s Choice Champion, and Hops & Fire (now called Cafe at the Prop), Reigning People’s Choice Champion, will look to defend their crowns but today’s chefs will do their best to dethrone them!

Bridget Horan, Corporate Kitchen Manager at Fat Dan’s Deli, prepares their famous Sammy So-So Cheesy Burger, and Erin Gllum, Chef de Cuisine at Spoke & Steele, prepares a popular burger from their menu, both of which will be competing in the competition next weekend.

Fat Dan’s Sammy So-So Cheesy: Seasoned Fischer Farms burger on a Turano brioche slider bun topped with spicy pepper beer cheese, sweet tomato jam, caramelized bacon, and a crispy onion ring.

Spoke & Steele’s Búrg Mí:  re-hydrated shiitake mushrooms and fresh ginger blended with Fischer Farms Goose Blend Beef, topped with pickled cucumbers and red onion, fresh jalapeno and cilantro with a spicy aioli on a toasted French roll.

Restaurants from all over Indianapolis will create their own unique burger to serve as sliders at Building Tomorrow’s Annual Indy Burger Battle, and you get to try each of them to decide whose is the most scrumptious. At the end of the day, your vote will determine the People’s Choice winner and local celebrity judges will determine the Critics’ Choice winner to crown the best burgers in Indianapolis! Join the festivities while enjoying a beautiful summer day outside on Georgia Street in Downtown Indianapolis with friends, music, beer/refreshments and the best burgers around!

The Indy Burger Battle is organized by Building Tomorrow, an Indy-based nonprofit that improves access to child-friendly, community-supported schools by providing an inclusive, quality education for underserved children in East Africa. All proceeds from the event will go towards achieving this vision.

VIP ticket holders enter one hour earlier, at 12 pm.
Tickets: $50, VIP; $30-$35, general admission; $10 for children ages 6-12; free for children 6 and under.
