INDYpendence Day Concert to rock Georgia Street

If you love festivals, we have the one for you!

317 Events and Alt1033 will be hosting the third annual “Indy-Pendence Street Fest: A Concert for Cancer” featuring national bands Panic! at the Disco and New Politics on July 4th on Georgia Street in downtown Indianapolis from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Other musical groups include: Veseria, Bleedingkeys, Standout Story and Coastl.

Scott Lintner, local doctor and cancer survivor, came up with the concert fundraiser idea when he was diagnosed with Leukemia and was not expected to live to age 50. After reaching his 50th birthday milestone in 2012, Lintner continued his dream of throwing a party for those who helped him and all people affected by cancer. Proceeds from “Indy-Pendence Street Fest” benefit The Lintner Foundation with funds allocated to St. Francis Assistance Fund and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Sponsorship dollars will be used to provide both cancer research opportunities and direct patient assistance. Within the past two years the event has raised close to $100,000.

Advance tickets will be $20 general admission and $25 the day of the show and special $40 pit passes. To purchase tickets visit www.indypendenceday.com or participating Karma locations. The event is open for all ages. Gates open at 2 p.m. and the music will begin at 3 p.m. lasting until 10 pm.
