Legendary entertainer Debbie Allen raises awareness for kidney disease

Legendary entertainer Debbie Allen is an american treasure, who’s still going strong with acting, producing TV shows, running her dance academy, and now she’s a Kennedy Center honoree.

She’s also living with pre-diabetes and has a family history of type 2 diabetes, a leading risk factor for chronic kidney disease, which is why she’s working to raise awareness.

Allen joined us today to bring us up to date on her career, and why this awareness effort is near and dear to her heart. With her was Dr. Joseph Vassalotti, chief medical officer of the national kidney foundation.
