Louie’s Wine Dive & Mass Ave Kitchen opens today

Downtown Indianapolis will soon be home to a new food and dining destination – Louie’s Wine Dive & Mass Ave Kitchen. The new 2,600 square foot restaurant and wine bar will begin seating patrons on Friday, May 29.

Establishment features a fun and casual approach to food and wine. “We provide a rustic-chic atmosphere for our fun and interactive approach to dining,” said Roger Duran, owner and chef of Louie’s Wine Dive Indianapolis & Mass Ave Kitchen. “We will feature more than 100 wines, local beers and craft cocktails in addition to a true made-from-scratch menu.”

Other characteristics of Louie’s Wine Dive & Mass Ave Kitchen include:

• Seasonal food menu with weekly prix fixe menu

• Daily wine “auction” listed on Louie’s Wineboard

• Any bottle of wine will be opened for a minimum of two glasses, no matter the price

• Brunch on Saturday and Sunday

• Selection of Craft Cocktails featuring private-label wine & bourbon on tap

Louie’s Wine Dive features an open layout and kitchen, which encourages guest interaction with chefs and staff. Décor has been sourced locally including reclaimed barn wood, hand-cut light fixtures and other handmade artwork procured by Louie’s Wine Dive.

Owner and chef Roger Duran, currently an instructor at Second Helpings Educational Program and the Art Institute Culinary Program, will lead Louie’s Wine Dive. Duran has traveled the world to participate in a variety of nonprofit programs such as the World Chefs’ Tour Against Hunger, where he helped feed numerous orphanages and people in need. In 2011, he received the Chef Professional Award from the American Culinary Federation and in 2012 was named Chef of the Year.

“It’s a passion of mine to use and showcase fresh, local products,” said Duran. “Central Indiana has incredible products and flavors unique to the Hoosier state and it’s exciting to share these ingredients with guests.”

Louie’s Wine Dive & Mass Ave Kitchen is located at 345 Massachusetts Ave., Indianapolis, Ind. 46204 and will seat 90 patrons. Hours of operation will be Monday – Thursday from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.; Friday from 11 a.m. – 1:30 a.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1:30 a.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
