Marion County Fair searches for 2021 QUEEN and PRINCESS

Are you ready to broaden your horizon and win a $2,500 scholarship?

The Marion County Fair board is currently accepting entry forms for the 2021 Marion County Queen and Princess contest. The contest is open to young women ages 14-20 years old who reside in Marion County. Along with her court, the Marion County Fair Queen serves as a community ambassador, makes special appearances and participates in various fair activities.

The contestants will be judged on personal interview, speech presence, business attire and formal attire. The Marion County Fair will award the following honorees: Queen, Queen First Runner-Up, Queen Second Runner-Up, Princess, Princess First Runner-up, Miss Congeniality Queen and Miss Congeniality Princess.

Basic rules:
● Must be between 14 and 20 as of June 1, 2021 the year competing
Ages 14-16 will compete for the title of Marion County Princess
● Must be a Marion County resident / have at least one parent who resides in Marion County
● Winners must be available to attend the fair June 25-July 4th, 2021
● All forms must be completed by the deadline listed on entry form / May 20, 2021

The mission of the queen contest is to award scholarships, help young women achieve their educational goals, empower young women with life skills including interviewing and public speaking and to encourage the spirit of volunteerism and charity work. The Marion County Fair has been crowning Queens since 1958. The pageant serves as the feeder competition leading to the Indiana State Fair Queen contest.

Applications are due on: May 20, 2021, along with a current head and shoulder photo emailed to marioncountyfair@comcast.net. A $20 application fee should be mailed to the Marion County Fairgrounds.

The Marion County fair was established in 1930 as a street fair in New Bethel (now known as Wanamaker). Following several moves in the Wanamaker area, the fair’s home was relocated to 123 acres at 7300 E. Troy Ave —which is their current location. There are 17 buildings on the grounds, The fair is owned and operated by Marion County Agriculture and 4-H Club Fair Association, Inc. a not-for-profit organization. It is governed by a 14-member board of directors.
