Film Yap

Theaters shutting down hasn’t slowed down new releases coming from studios. We checked in with Christopher Lloyd of The Film Yap to see what’s streaming and what’s available on disc and On-Demand.

New On Digital/Demand:

The Other Lamb — Raffey Cassidy stars in this beautiful yet disturbing film about a teen girl blooming into womanhood while part of a cult led by a charismatic but self-serving leader.

Never Rarely Sometimes Always — Two teenage girls from rural Pennsylvania travel to the Big Apple to seek an abortion in this harrowing/empowering drama.

Sonic the Hedgehog — The blue furry speedster from the video games gets his own flick with Jim Carrey mugging and chewing the scenery like the old days as the villain Dr. Robotnik.

Bad Boys for LIfe — Old and busted? Martin Lawrence and Will Smith don’t think so as they get out of their recliners for “one last ride” as Miami detectives.

New on Disc:

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker — After 42 years and nine films, the Skywalker saga comes to a close with this uneven but grand finale. Buy It.

New on Streaming:

Tiger King — Everybody’s talking about this wacked-out docu-drama about the weird niche community of big-cat owners and bigger/weirder personalities.

You Might Have Missed:

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull — The much-maligned fourth Indiana Jones movie is actually a fun-filled hoot. With the fifth bumped till 2021, get your Jones on now on Netflix!
