The Tax Collector — Shia LaBeouf co-stars in this crime drama about a gang war in which the enforcer for one side finds his family targeted. Written and directed by David Ayer (“End of Watch”).
I Used to Go Here — Gillian Jacobs stars in this dramedy as a 30-something writer who’s been invited back to speak at her college alma mater and finds herself bonding with some of the students there.
Waiting for the Barbarians — Robert Pattinson, Johnny Depp and Mark Rylance star in this historical drama about a benevolent British magistrate in Asia who clashes with his superiors about how to treat the natives.
Cool on Streaming:
An American Pickle. Seth Rogen stars in this comedy about an immigrant pickle factory worker who falls into a vat of brine and wakes up 100 years later and becomes roomies with his great-grandson. Now on HBO Max.
Howard. This documentary looks at the life and art of Howard Ashman, who wrote the lyrics for most of the early animation revival. On Disney+.
