“The House with a Clock in its Walls,” “Lizzie,” and more open in theaters this weekend

(WISH) — Temperatures are finally cooling down this weekend, but there’s still plenty to see in theaters locally this weekend!

The Film Yap’s Christopher Lloyd reviews the latest releases:

The House with a Clock in Its Walls

Jack Black is a warlock and Cate Blanchett is a witch in this Harry-Potter-meets-Goosebumps mashup that’s little bit of a lot of different things, none of them particularly well done.

Lizzie

Chloe Sevigny plays notorious alleged ax murderess Lizzie Borden in this Gothic horror take that focuses on her romantic relationship with the family maid, played by Kristen Stewart.

Fahrenheit 11/9

Get ready for another left-leaning polemic disguised as a documentary from filmmaker/firebrand Michael Moore.

Assassination Nation

After evidence of a wild party gets leaked onto the web, four teenage girls fight back against their malicious accusers. Think “Heathers” meets “The Purge.”

Life Itself

Olivia Wilde and Oscar Isaac play a couple falling in and out of live in this romantic drama that explores a relationship over the passing of years.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

An occasionally entertaining sequel without a lot of heart or brains. Stream It.
