Transitioning your style from Winter to Spring with Kiarra Looks

Spring has not quite sprung, but that doesn’t mean we can’t prepare our closets and style. As we transition from winter, Kiarra Logan, Kiarra Looks, shares some great trends and tips to help you get style ready. Here’s more, from Kiarra, herself:

Are we over sweatpants? I get it, we wore them all of quarantine, but cozy fashion is here to stay. However now, it’s time to think about elevated sweatpants and sweat suits. You can easily keep your comfort and get all the fashion but opting for a lighter spring colored sweat suit. I styled Brittany in a hoodie and sweatpants from H&M. I wanted to make sure to stay away from typical colors that we gravitate too in colder months. We paired it with a chic cream coat, also H&M, to keep with the lighter colors. I recently got a new sweat suit from Indianapolis based retailer MELI International, and it is truly elevated. It has a more tailored fit, and they offer it in a variety of colors that are perfect for spring. I already added the green color way to my cart.

The infamous SHACKET. Oh yes, we are taking the SHACKET (Shirt+Jacket) all the way into spring. Right now there are so many good Shackets out there in spring colors. Try light purple, as styled on Brittany, green, yellow, and anything else that gives a little pop. I styled her with a graphic tee and patent Dr.Martens to give it a little edge. I am really loving these Dr.Marten boots because the patent gives them a little more flare than the traditional leather.

A trend that Kiarra Looks is Loving? Girly dresses and combat boots. Yes thats right, a dress and combat boots. It combines a girly flare, with a tomboy edge, and I cant get enough of it. Brittany is wearing a classic black dress from H&M with the Dr.Martens again. When you invest in closet staples, you definitely have to learn to wear them a number of ways. I styled a leopard print dress from ASOS with a pair of my favorite lug sole boots. You can also wear tights for a chilly spring day, either solid or patterned would be great to complete the look!

Are prints in? DEFINITELY. Prints and patterns are here for the spring. Animal print of course, but I am also loving polka dots. Polka dots can seem like a challenge, but I assure you it doesn’t have to be complicated. My favorite polka dot piece is from Washington AVE. They are a vintage clothing boutique that sells reworked pieces. I always mention fashion sustainability, and of course with unique pieces like this we can see why!

Tie Dye and bleached looks, are you tired of them? I hope not! Bring them with you into spring, but again just opt for lighter colors. I got a really great tie-dye dress from Glam Expressway, a Brooklyn based boutique. I love pieces like this because they are great for spring date nights, and of course a weekend vacation. If you’re looking for custom tie-dye you can check out Emmy Lennon, also based out of New York. I live in her one of a kind pieces too!

As always, I hope that you are staying safe and stylish! Spring fashion should be fun, and if you need more tips please find me at www.kiarralooks.com or @kiarralooks on Instagram.
