Visual Effects Masterpiece Movie to Debut in Indy Alongside Gen Con

As part of Gen Con, the world’s largest gaming convention, a select audience will be getting access to a sneak peek of the new visual effects movie, White Space, on August 3 at 10:30 p.m. at the Westin Indianapolis hotel. Movie goers must have a purchased a badge to attend Gen Con for free admission. Gen Con badges are currently still available for purchase at www.gencon.com

The sci-fi action film is directed by visual effects veteran Ken Locsmandi and is led by Holt McCallany, who stars as Bill Tench in David Fincher’s hit Netflix crime-drama, Mindhunter. He appears alongside Dave Sheridan (Victor Crowley), Jocko Sims (The Last Ship), James Devoti (City of Lies), and Zulay Henao (Hostel Part III).

Summary: “When a deep space fishing vessel is robbed by a gang of space pirates, the Captain makes a daring decision to go after a rare and nearly extinct species. On the hunt, the ship takes as much damage as it gives, but the Captain’s obsession propels them further into space and danger. The crew spins into a downward spiral of mutiny and betrayal on a voyage that takes the ship, and its crew, to what may just be the point of no return…”

White Space was shot on 35mm film and boasts over 1400 visual effects shot.

Visusal effects director and producer Locsmandi says, “As a lifelong Dungeons & Dragons player, I couldn’t be more excited to debut the film to Gen Con attendees and fans, who are the film’s ideal target audience. I’m geeking out!”

Spoke Lane Entertainment and Filmworks/FX, Inc. produced the film with Ryan Colucci, Ken Locsmandi, James Devoti and Mark Newbauer. The script was written by Colucci and Clay McLeod Chapman.
