Whale of a Sale children’s consignment event now open

We’ve often featured large consignment events on Indy Style, but this year one consignment sale is going to look a little different while still providing the same great deals. Courtney O’Neil, founder, Whale of a Sale has everything you need to know to shop at this year’s event. Here’s more from her:

The sale opens Thursday and runs through July 12th at Grand Park in Westfield. This year, appointments are free and required.

Whale of a Sale is Indiana’s largest children’s consignment event, with more than 700 consignors and more than 100,000 children’s items. Items are marked 60 to 90% off retail prices.

Whale of a Sale was voted the #1 consignment sale in Indianapolis from Indy’s Child Parenting Magazine readers! Consignment is popular as families find kids growing out of clothing and equipment quickly, and also desire to be “green” by recycling gently-used gear.

Shoppers can expect to find upscale clothing, toys, furniture, strollers, bikes, play equipment, maternity and a variety of area vendors.

Women’s active-wear clothing will also be sold including popular brands Lululemon, Athleta, Zella, Nike and Under Armour.

The average consignor earns $500. Unsold clothing can be donated to charity partner Good Samaritan Network of Hamilton County.

NEW SHOPPING SPECIFICS:

Health and safety are our #1 priority. We’re working hard to ensure the Governor’s guidelines are followed and the sale is as “touchless” as possible.

KIDS – Children under 16 are not permitted.
MASKS – Masks are required at Grand Park.
PAYMENT – Credit card ONLY. No cash or checks.
SHOPPING APPOINTMENTS – Appointments are required to space out crowds. Only 100-125 admitted per hour.
BAGS/WAGONS – Please bring your own large bag/wagon to carry items while shopping, or purchase a $5 IKEA bag at our entry. We will not be handing out and reusing IKEA bags for sanitary reasons.

We have increased the size of the sale to two soccer fields – from 35,000 square feet to 120,000 square feet in order to greatly distance shoppers and merchandise.
