What’s next for Tina’s Traditional Tea Room?

Tina’s Traditional Tea room will no longer have the tea times their customers have grown to know and love, but they will continue operating in other ways. Tina Jesson, founder of Tina’s Traditional joined us today to discuss the changes coming to the company and her professional life.

How has Tina’s Traditional pivoted the business?

We have pivoted our business to mostly online now, selling Tina’s Traditional range of teas, jams and bake mixes and tea time accessories via our website where we ship nationwide across the USA and teaming up with Market Wagon for our baked items to be delivered twice per week in the Central Indiana region. My manager Heather Buchanan, will be taking over the business operations and providing tea party catering into people’s homes, churches and venues, which is where I started back in 2011.

What about the tearoom?

As you can imagine, the costs for a restaurant space in Carmel is so expensive, especially when we’ve dropped from our original number of 20 plus tables down to just 6 inside, as we comply with social distancing rules. We will be closing the tearoom on Aug 30,  exactly 6 years to the day since we opened the in Carmel.

We are currently taking reservations for people who want to come in one last time before we close.

An amazing 6 years

This will mark the end of an incredible ride, we’ve had the privilege to take with our guests and team and we will miss being an active part of the Carmel community.

What’s next for Tina

I will be moving to work remotely with an online training company, developing digital video content for a Life Skills and Business Academy, including bake classes, etiquette, social confidence and business growth.  new online training platform is The Xperience Academy

I’m also looking forward to spending some time in the UK early next year once borders reopen.
