Workout Wednesday: Stretch to New Goals
Stretch your fitness to new heights this year!
Firefighter Tim says stretching has so many benefits, whether it’s a post workout or by itself. He says ir’s important to make sure you find the time to stretch post-workouts and to carve a time out of your day to stretch, even on your days off from working out. Here are just a few of these benefits:
* Reduced muscle tension
* Increased range of movement in the joints
* Enhanced muscular coordination
* Increased circulation of the blood to various parts of the body
* Increased energy levels (resulting from increased circulation)
* Reduce back pain
* Calm your mind
* Reduce stress
The stretch routine:
•10/15 warmup row or steps, or post workout.
•Chest/ shoulder partner or wall
stretch.
•partner or wall hip stretch
•hip circles
•sumo squat stretch
•standing quad stretch
•standing toe touch
•seated partner toe touches
•all four wrist stretch into all four hip stretch
•knee high hurdler stretch
•seated partner shoulder stretch
•seated partner tricep stretch
