INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Sober October is here, which is a challenge created to motivate people to stop drinking alcohol for a month. Registered dietitian, cookbook author and chef Michelle Dudash joined us on Indy Style with cozy non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy all fall season long.
Michelle’s recipes are easy to make, tasty and help keep idle hands busy. You might get more enjoyment out of your drink when you’ve spent a few minutes preparing it, too, like with these recipes.
Michelle made a POM grapefruit cooler by shaking up POM Wonderful 100% pomegranate juice, fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice, bitters, lemon juice and an egg white. The egg white adds a white foam to the top of the mocktail!
The second mocktail Michelle made a POM Toddy with POM Wonderful 100% pomegranate juice, apple cider, a bit of honey and a cinnamon stick. Simmer the mixture in a pot on the stove for about fifteen minutes and you’re all set! You can drink it hot or make a chilled version by pouring the mixture over ice!
