Barry Collier to speak at Butler on how community of sports has transformed Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — (WISH) The Indianapolis College Football Playoff host committee is excited to bring national conversations about collegiate athletics to campus communities around Indiana. The final event of the University Speaker Series is being help in Nov. 17 at 5:15 p.m. at Clowes Memorial Hall at Butler University. Barry Collier, Butler’s Athletic Director, will speak about the business of sports and how the athletic community has transformed Butler and the entire city of Indianapolis!

Lauren Petersen, Indianapolis Host Committee Member, joined us today on Indy Style to tell us more about this event. The event is free to attend in person and there will be a livestream as well. The panel will include insight from executives of Butler, the Indianapolis Colts, Visit Indy, and the 2022 Indy College Football Playoff Host Committee. It will also include a special awards presentation by President Danko of Butler.

It’s also the evening that Butler men’s basketball team has a big rematch against Michigan State, guests are invited to wear their Butler gear the game at Hinkle after the event.

As we are just 56 days away from the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Jan. 10, Indy is preparing for more exciting events! Lauren also let us know that CFP is hosting a Extra Yard for Teachers 5K on Jan. 9. The race will raise money for “The Extra Yard for Teachers” initiative. She showed us the beautiful medals that participants will receive after crossing the finish line!
