Boy Scouts of Central Indiana prepare to launch programs for local youth

3-2-1…. launch! Adventure awaits you when you become a local cub scout! Just ask Con Sullivan and Emily Elliott with Boy Scouts of America. They tell us boys aged 6-10 years old can begin their very own adventure in scouting! Parents can register youth for Scouting on Thursday, August 25, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at their local elementary school. New members will receive a model rocket to build and launch.

The Cub Scout program offers a variety of activities from traditional Scouting to STEM-based activities. Throughout the year Scouts will be able to participate in Cub Scout Fun Day, summer camp, Pinewood Derby and other special activities. Aside from providing a positive place where boys can enjoy safe, wholesome activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character and leadership skills, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills and developing a sense of citizenship and community spirit.

Packs in your community are a part of Crossroads of America Council, which serves more than 33,000 youth in 25 central Indiana counties. Boy Scouts of America is a youth development organization that is designed to prepare young people to make ethical and moral decisions throughout their lifetime. The goals of Scouting consist of citizenship training, leadership development and personal fitness.
