Lots of St. Patrick’s Day events happening in Indy

There are lots of ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in downtown Indy. From a bash on Georgia Street, to a 5K run/walk, Amanda Dorman from Downtown Indy has the rundown.

Celebrate with a bash on Georgia Street, a 5K run/walk, a parade and more

3rd Annual Blarney Bash: live music and green beer on the Boardwalk

Head to Georgia Street Saturday, March 14 between 2 – 10 p.m. for a celebration of all things Irish! Blarney Bash on Georgia Street, in partnership with Q95, alt 103.3, Killian’s Irish Red and Guinness, will feature two live bands, green beer, tasty food from food trucks and Georgia Street restaurants and plenty o’ spirits. Local bands My Yellow Rickshaw and Zanna-Doo! will play, plus a live DJ in between sets. Food trucks Der Pretzel Wagen and Brozini Pizzaria will be on-site. Attendees must be 21+.

Downtown Indy St. Patrick’s Day traditions

• The Shamrock Run and Walk – the official race of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade – takes place Saturday, March 14 at 10 a.m. on Monument Circle. Also on Saturday, ShamRockin’ The Circle takes places from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Monument Circle. Enjoy food, a beer garden and entertainment.

• The Hoosier Lottery Greening of the Canal takes place Monday, March 16 at 5 p.m. with live music, dancing and local celebrity appearances.

• The St. Patrick’s Day Parade Presented by the Hoosier Lottery takes places Tuesday, March 17 starting at 11:30 a.m. Stay Downtown for the Parade Block Party from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Vermont Street. Both the parade and block party are FREE to attend.

Participate in the Shamrock Beer 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, March 14 at 2 p.m. and start your run with a toast of local brew and then stop every kilometer to drink another beer. All runners get shirt, medal and souvenir pint glass of beer. The run begins and ends on Georgia Street.

The Rathskeller will host the 18th annual Indianapolis Downtown Irish Fest Tuesday, March 17. Enjoy Irish food and live music from Brian Cunningham and The Irish Aires, The Woomblies and Zanna-Doo! Admission is FREE.

Other events

It’s not really St. Patrick’s Day without a proper pub crawl is it? On Saturday, March 14, the St. Pat’s Bar Crawl will visit Tiki Bob’s, Howl at the Moon, Subterra Lounge and others starting at noon. The $25 ticket includes three gift cards, drink specials and more.
