Scotty’s Dawghouse opens on Butler campus
Scott Wise will open his 15th location on May 9 with the introduction of Scotty’s Dawghouse on the campus of Butler University in Indiana. The newest location to the Brewhouse family, will open its doors to the public just steps away from both Hinkle Fieldhouse, Clowes Hall, and thousands of hungry and thirsty Butler University students, faculty, and employees.
“We worked very closely with the Butler administration on this project,” says Scott Wise, president/CEO of a Pots & Pans Production, the parent management company for Scotty’s Brewhouse, Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Co., Scotty’s Brew Club, and Scotty’s Dawghouse. “Being the first bar/restaurant on campus made it very important for us to work together to give not only the University a great product; but, also the surrounding Butler-Tarkington neighborhood of families.”
Scotty’s Dawghouse was granted permission to use the Butler name, mascot and other trademark rights in signage and apparel. Guests will see the famous Butler Blue Bulldog on the walls, shirts, hats, and more. Scotty’s Dawghouse will not only offer popular apparel for restaurant and Bulldog fans, but will also be the first Scotty’s location to welcome dogs on the restaurant patio.
Scotty’s Dawghouse will be partnering with local favorite, Three Dog Bakery in Broad Ripple, to offer a special Dog Menu for man’s best friend, as well as branded dog merchandise including dog bowls, dog toys, dog collars, and Frisbees.
The Dawghouse restaurant features the traditional Scotty’s Brewhouse food menu, full-service bar with 32 draft beers, and a true focus on local craft beer.
As with other locations, Scotty’s Dawghouse will join the other Brewhouse locations in carrying beer from Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Company. Guests are able to purchase carryout growlers of all the Thr3e Wise Men brews Monday through Saturday. Also available at this location-Thr3e Wise Men’s famous thin and crispy pizza with homemade dough and sauce. Their housemade pizza crust is made with Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Co.’s Golden Zoe IPA.
Scotty’s will serve lunch and dinner and seat 250 to 300 between its dining room and large outdoor patio. The patio as with all Scotty’s locations, it is “all ages welcome” and family friendly. This location’s patio will feature an outdoor gaming area with corn hole, ladder golf, giant Jenga, and ring toss as well as four separate patio couch areas, two with built in fire pits.
Guests of this unique location will also be encouraged to bring photos of themselves and their dogs to post on the custom magnet wall built to display The Scotty’s Dawghouse Family.
The new restaurant will be open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. (midnight on Friday and Saturday) with the goal of offering extended hours following major arts and athletics events.
“When I heard that we were even in the discussion as a possibility for this location, I could barely contain my excitement to be the first restaurant/bar on Butler’s campus. We’re excited to bring a blend of dining atmosphere that allows for the young and young at heart to all dine together with include a bar with over 70 TV’s for those into the big game or another area that has a ‘kids play area’ with chalk wall, toys and a TV with cartoons. We wanted to create a dining atmosphere that worked for both Butler students and faculty; but, also the Butler-Tarkington and Meridian Kessler neighborhood of families,” adds Wise.
Scotty’s Brewhouse opened their first location in Muncie, Indiana, in 1996. This will be the 15th location with a Scotty’s Brewhouse opening in Punta Gorda, Florida, in June, and an additional location opening in Champaign, Illinois, this summer.
Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Co., also owned by Wise, in Broad Ripple, Indiana makes seven of Scotty’s Dawghouse 32 beers on tap. Scotty’s Dawghouse will have a full bar of high-end bourbons, margaritas, mojitos, and martinis. There is also a vast 10 page, 100 item food menu with everything from homemade pizza to hand-pattied burgers, fries, double-breaded chicken wings with homemade sauces, as well as a full kids menu where 12 and under eat free every Sunday and Tuesday.
This “upscale sports pub” has over 60 TVs and offers Delivery and Catering Delivery as well as private party room sizes available from a private conference room that holds 15 with 3 TVs to another room that holds groups of 40 to 50. This particular location will also open early football games (9 a.m). with a menu of Eggs, Kegs & Hoosier Daddy Bloody Mary’s.
