The Film Yap’s list of new movies you should watch, what you might’ve missed
Movie theaters may be shutdown right now, but there are still new movies for you to watch being released online regularly. We checked in with Christopher Lloyd of The Film Yap to see what’s streaming and what’s available on disc and On-Demand.
New On Digital/Demand:
Selah and the Spades — Selah Summers rules the roost as the top
dog at an exclusive boarding school ruled by different competing factions.
Debuts on Amazon today.
Fantasy Island — Horror studio Blumhouse puts a scary/funny spin on the cheesy 70s TV show, where guests come looking for love but find murder instead. On digital now.
Underwater — Kristen Stewart plays a deep sea scientist working for an oil drilling company that encounters strange creatures in this sci-fi adventure that didn’t totally steal its plot from “The Abyss.” On digital now.
New on Disc:
Just Mercy — One of the best movies of 2019 you probably didn’t see or even hear about; a top-notch legal drama about a man wrongfully convicted of murder. With Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx.
New on Streaming:
The Lighthouse – A “kooky for its own sake” tale imho, but lots of people loved this two-man tale starring Robert Pattison and Willem Dafoe as 19th century lighthouse workers going mad. On Amazon now.
You Might Have Missed:
Minority Report — The most un-Spielberg movie Steven Spielberg ever made, this dystopian sci-fi whodunit that, like its star Tom Cruise, has aged rather well.
