“I was put on this Earth to make a difference.” That’s what you will hear when you ask April Simpson what are her life goals. April joined WISH-TV in October 2023.

The Emmy Award-winning journalist hosts All Indiana and anchors the 6pm and 10pm newscasts on WISH-TV.

She excelled in relaying the news of the day to her loyal viewers during her tenure in St. Louis, Missouri. During that time April also hosted a talk show on KPLR 11 called Afternoons on Eleven and anchored plus reported for the 1 rated Fox 2 News in the Morning. Prior to St Louis April was a reporter/fill-in anchor in Shreveport and Monroe Louisiana.

After earning numerous awards for her journalistic ability, April turned to something that runs deep in her family, serving the community. After being diagnosed with a near fatal brain tumor in 2010, April started her own non-profit foundation called April’s Angels. It is the goal of April’s Angels Foundation to educate everyone about brain tumors, so more lives can be saved.

April is a native of Gurdon, Arkansas and a graduate of the University of Arkansas. She earned her Master of Arts degree from Webster University in St. Louis.

According to April laughing helps you live longer and is sometimes the best medicine. Oh and can’t leave out her favorite pastime…fishing with a cane pole on the banks of the river.
