Cleanup at IMS set to begin following Indy 500

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) – Sunday saw yet another Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The 105th running of the historic race ended with driver Helio Castroneves getting the win, his fourth Indianapolis 500 victory.

Now with the race over and the crowds having vacated the historic race track, the cleanup from Sunday’s race is set to get underway.

Camp grounds and lots look much better than in years past, mainly due to the capacity limits. However, trash still needs to be picked up.

Normally, nonprofit groups volunteer to help cleanup the mess left behind by race attendees. Those opportunities are still available this year.
