TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A former Costco employee in Washington state has been sentenced to a year in prison for stealing nearly $290,000 from the company and its customers.

KOMO-TV reports 54-year-old Robin Cline was sentenced Monday in federal court in Tacoma after pleading guilty in June to wire fraud charges.

Cline of Puyallup worked as an accounts receivable clerk at the Costco store in Fife from 1996 to 2016.

Federal prosecutors say she stole money by manipulating entries in business customer accounts.

According to court records, she funneled money into her bank accounts and a bank account associated with her son, using the money to buy a luxury car and pay for personal expenses.

Cline has agreed to pay back the stolen money.
