Texas channels ‘The Waterboy’ to tell drivers to be safe

TAMPA (WFLA/CNN) – The Texas Department of Transportation got a little Hollywood in an effort to keep the roadways safe this past mother’s day weekend.

Quotes inspired by the Adam Sandler comedy “The Waterboy” were seen on electronic signs throughout the state.

The quotes included: “Mama say buckle up Bobby Boucher” and “Be safe drive smart love mama.”

Robert Carlile took these pictures and tweeted them, tagging Sandler.

Tx-dot often uses humor during the holidays with past signs including: “Gobble gobble, go easy on the throttle” and “Only Rudolph should drive lit.”
