INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person is dead and one is in critical condition after a shooting Sunday in the 1600 block of Centurion Circle.

IMPD confirmed two people were shot around 10 p.m. Sunday.

Both male victims were taken to St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital in critical condition, according to IMPD spokesperson Officer Rafael Diaz.

Upon arrival, one of the men was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Police say they have a person of interest in custody for the shooting, and that the suspect and victims knew each other.

Police do not believe this was a random act of violence, and were still investigating through the night.

Both the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency and the Marion County Coroner’s Office were called to assist in the investigation.

A second shooting was reported in the 1700 block of Minnesota Street at 9 p.m. Sunday.

One person was shot in the leg, but police believe it was not connected to the shooting an hour later.
