INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person is dead and another person is critically injured following a late Monday night shooting on the city’s west side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the 3400 block of North Auburn Road for a report of shots fired.

After arriving on the scene, an adult female who had been shot was located. She was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Additionally, while officers were on scene investigating, another report of a person shot, in the 2900 block of Lafayette Road was received. An adult male was found suffering from what officers described as an apparent gunshot wound.

The male victim was transported to the hospital, also in critical condition.

The female, while at the hospital, did pass away due to her injuries. She has since been identified as 47-year-old Stephanie Harris.

Nosuspect information has been released.

Both scenes are thought to be connected to the same shooting, police say.
