INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — At least one person is dead and one other was hurt Tuesday night in a shooting in a neighborhood west of the Broad Ripple business district.

Police were called at 9:30 p.m. to the 6400 block of Central Avenue. That’s a few blocks west of College Avenue.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Capt. Robert Trout said a group of people busted through the front door of a home and went through the house while firing guns. They left through a back window of the home.

The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Raushawn Gordon.

Trout said he saw at least 12 shell casings at the front door when he entered the home. Bullet holes were found in three rooms of the home.

The person who was injured cut his hand, police said.

No additional details, including word on any suspects, was immediately available.

IMPD said the Central Avenue shooting was one of three Tuesday night across the city. All of them occurred within 25 minutes.

At 9:52 p.m., police were called on a report of a person shot at East 10th Street and North Ritter Avenue. At 9:55 p.m., IMPD was called to the 4000 block of Meadows Drive on a report of another person shot. In each case, IMPD said the person shot was awake and breathing after the shooting, but had no other information immediately available.
