Coroner identifies 18-year-old victim fatally stabbed on south side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – UPDATE: The Marion County Coroner has identified the victim of a fatal stabbing Friday as 18-year-old Nathan Cain Henry.

The coroner’s office reports Henry died from stab wounds as the result of a homicide.

The investigation into Henry’s death is ongoing.

An 18-year-old man is dead after being stabbed on the city’s south side early Friday morning, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Police said the deadly incident happened in the 6800 block of Buckridge East Road around 2 a.m for a report of a person stabbed.

After arriving on the scene, officers were unable to find the victim. They later learned that the male victim had been taken to a nearby hospital.

The 18-year-old died from his injuries at the hospital.

Three people are currently in police custody.

There is no immediate danger to residents in the area, officers said.

The events leading up the fatal stabbing are unclear at this point.
