1 hurt in Fort Wayne shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man was hospitalized Tuesday night after a shooting on the city’s northeast side.

Police were called to the 4600 block of Evard Road around 10:15 p.m.

Several 911 callers reported hearing anywhere from ten to 40 gunshots. NewsChannel 15’s Rod Hissong spotted at least ten shell casings in the driveway and bullet holes in the driver side window of a pickup truck.

When police arrived, they found a victim who appeared to have been near a garage at 4606 Evard Road. The man was transported to a hospital in serious condition.

Investigators are working to determine how many shots were fired and how many people were involved. No suspect information was available from police late Tuesday night.

The incident is under investigation.
