1 person shot outside Glenbrook Mall in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A person was in serious condition Friday night after a shooting in the parking lot of Glenbrook Mall.

Police were called to the area of the parking lot just outside the food court after 6 p.m. They found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower leg.

Police said an off-duty police officer working as mall security was in the food court during the shooting and was on scene immediately.

He administered first-aid and put a tourniquet on the man’s wound.

Glenbrook Mall initiated its lockdown protocol for just under 10 minutes. Once police determined the shooting was not inside the mall, the lockdown was lifted.

An employee inside the mall said armed police officers wearing bulletproof vests were inside the mall.

About 9 p.m., police are talking to witnesses and the victim to get information about the shooter. No arrests had been made.
