2 in critical condition after serious crash in Noblesville
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Two people are in critical conditional after a serious crash in Noblesville Thursday morning.
According to police, Noblesville police and fire departments were sent to the 14800 block of southbound State Road 37 around 9:36 a.m.
When police arrived on scene they said they found a two vehicle crash.
Police said a 2005 Chevy pickup truck was traveling southbound in the 14800 block of State Road 37 when it crashed into another vehicle. The other vehicle was a 2012 Ford Escape registered to Certified Engineering, Inc. in Indianapolis. The Ford was parked on the right shoulder of the roadway. Police said the Chevy veered to the right side of the roadway causing it to strike the Ford. There were two people standing outside of the vehicle at the time of the collision.
The driver of the Chevy was identified as Timothy Osburn, 72 of Frankton. Osburn was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The person of the Ford standing on the driver’s side was identified as Derek Knowling, 31 of Roachdale. Knowling was transported by air ambulance in critical condition.
The second person of the Ford standing on the passenger’s side of the vehicle was identified as Brian Rees, 59 of Indianapolis. Rees was transported by air ambulance in critical condition.
Traffic on State Road 37 was restricted or closed for some time between 146th Street and Greenfield Avenue until 1 p.m. Thursday.
The investigation is ongoing.
