27-year-old motorcyclist killed in McCordsville crash

MCCORDSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – One person is dead following a Tuesday afternoon crash in McCordsville, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

On April 6, around 3:45 p.m., deputies were called to the area of Mt. Comfort Road and County Road 900 North for a report of a crash.

Deputies said the crash involved a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle and a 2017 Jeep Patriot.

An initial investigation shows the Jeep, which was driven by a juvenile, was headed north on Mt. Comfort Road when it turned into the path of the southbound motorcycle. David Washburn, 27, was riding the motorcycle.

Washburn was transported to St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital in critical condition. He later died at the hospital.

The driver of the Jeep stayed on scene, has been cooperative and was not injured.

The deadly crash remains under investigation.
