3 dead, 1 injured after early morning house fire

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — Three people are dead and one is injured after a fire broke out at a family home early Saturday morning, according to Rob Roy with the Washington Township Fire Department.

Roy confirmed two people died at the scene and one in the hospital. A fourth person was taken to the hospital but Roy could not confirm their condition. 

Fire crews from several departments responded to the 9200 block of Wheelock Road in northeast Allen County around 2 a.m. Crews were working to get the fire under control until almost 4 a.m. The home appears to be a total loss.

The fire remains under investigation. More details are expected to come from the coroner’s office later.
