400+ to be offered new jobs after Ryder Integrated Logistics in Plainfield closes

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — More than 400 employees are expected to be offered new jobs when a Plainfield facility shuts down in July.

A WARN (Worker Adjustment Retraining and Notification) filing with the Department of Workforce Development states that Ryder Integrated Logistics in Plainfield will be shutting down on July 12.

Ryder says that approximately 436 employees will be laid off but that all but one of those employees will be offered new positions with the company that will take over operations at that location or with other Ryder facilities.

Ryder offered the following statement to WISH-TV:

Due to a customer’s changing business needs, Ryder will no longer operate the facility located at 2801 Airwest Blvd., Plainfield, IN, effective July 12, 2019. The customer at that facility is transitioning to a new service provider. Ryder is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for the customer and its new service provider, which will continue operations at the same facility. Of the 436 employees at the facility, 435 – or all but one employee – have been offered positions with the new service provider or redeployed to another Ryder facility.

I’m sure your viewers would appreciate the correction as much as we would.

The facility is located at 2801 Airwest Boulevard.
