9-year-old robbed at gunpoint for lemonade stand money
(KRON/CNN) — A young entrepreneur in North Carolina was rewarded for his work ethic, and his bravery, by a Fortune 500 company.
Nine-year-old Mark David has many money-making ventures.
“I’m an organic lemonade stand operator, a dog walker, a reptile caregiver, lawn mower, professional ring-bearer,” Mark said.
Sadly, his determined spirit was crushed when he was robbed at gunpoint for the money he made that day at his lemonade stand.
It was all for $17.
Mark was saving that money to buy a riding lawn mower for his grass-cutting business.
After hearing about what happened, a local Lowe’s Home Improvement decided to give Mark a helping hand.
The store presented the young businessman with a brand new riding lawn mower.
“I tell you what, man, you’re a tough kid,” the store representative said.
Mark showed his appreciation with a couple cups of ice-cold lemonade.
