98-year-old Girl Scout has been selling the famous cookies for 88 years
WENERSVILLE, Pa. (WISH) — The Girl Scouts are back at it, knocking on doors, setting up shop outside of grocery stores and sending cookie order forms to work with their parents, but one Girl Scout stands out from the rest.
Meet 98-year-old Ronnie Backenstoe from Wenersville, Pennsylvania.
News affiliate WFMZ reports Ronnie has been a Girl Scout for 88 years. This year she’s continuing the tradition of throwing on her uniform and helping with cookie sales.
“Her stamina, her energy, her mind, she’s nonstop,” said Barbara Allen Perelli, Ronnie’s troop leader.
Ronnie says she’s the happiest when she is selling cookies.
“Oh, I love it. Oh yes,” she said. “I think that was just part of living and that’s what really girl scouting is. It teaches you how to live.”
