A bitterly cold start; Accumulating snow Thursday night
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A frigid start with temperatures below zero for Thursday morning and with wind chills between -15° to -30°. Lots of sunshine to start the morning. Clouds will begin to increase during the afternoon with a quick hitting clipper system. Winds from the south will provide the state with a little bit of warmth, warming highs to the mid-teens today. Snow chances will increase later Thursday evening. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from I-70 and points north through late Thursday evening through Friday morning.
Friday mornings commute will messy especially early on with snow wrapping up just before 7 am. Accumulations range from 2-4” from I-70 and points north. Southern portions of the state may see a dusting to an inch. Highs will warm to the lower 30s during the afternoon.
This up-coming weekend will feel like a heat wave! Highs come Saturday will warm to the upper 40s with a few sprinkles during the day. Even warmer Sunday with highs in mid 50s! A few rays of sunshine possible with a lot of cloud cover to wrap up the weekend. Monday highs will soar to near 60s with rain showers likely through the day. We dry it out Tuesday and begin a cool down with highs cooling to the lower 40s. A shot of colder air by the end of the next week with highs on Thursday in the upper 20s.
