A cool weekend, then a warmup

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Our near perfect fall weekend rolls right along.

After some rain very early Saturday morning, central Indiana saw skies clear for lots of sunshine through the day.

Another chilly night was ahead and then we get going on a warming trend into the 80s in a couple days.

  • Sunday: Sunny skies with the wind becoming more out of the southwest. That southwest wind will start our warming trend with a bit warmer temperatures in the mid 70s Sunday afternoon.
  • Monday: Not so cool in the morning about 60. and then sunny skies and warming to the low 80. Monday afternoon

Storm Track 8 radar showed the area of rain that moved through during the overnight hours Friday night, just under three hours of rain with most areas in central Indiana receiving 0.1 to 0.3 of an inch.

Speaking of sunset, Saturday was the last day with 12 hours of daytime this year. Starting Sunday, the days get shorter and the nights get longer than 12 hours.

A cold front and clearing skies will lead to a chilly night. Upper 40s by Sunday morning.

Lots of sunshine and wind from the southwest will get us started on a warming trend Sunday afternoon.

Big change in temperature Sunday. Very pleasant afternoon for outdoor fun.

8-Day Outlook: The warming trend continues in the low 80s Tuesday and Wednesday. A little cooler 70s the rest of the week. A dry week ahead with our next chance for rain not likely until next Saturday.
