A stormy Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We’re in store for a quiet evening around central Indiana.

Look for mostly cloudy skies with temperatures falling into the 30s Friday evening.

Overnight temperatures will fall into the lower 30s, which is right around normal for this time of year.

Saturday morning will start off dry, but a storm system will bring rain and thunderstorms for the afternoon. Highs will climb into the lower 50s for most spots.

The storms will be in western Indiana by lunchtime Saturday and move into the central part of the state by later in the evening. The showers and storms move out of the area by late Saturday night.

Some of the storms may be on the stronger side. There’s a marginal risk for southern parts of Indiana.  These means some of the storms may reach severe critera with gusty winds and heavy rainfall.

Rainfall amounts exceed about an inch in many locations.

Once the rain moves out, the winds will pick up. West-southwest winds will increase to 10-20 mph with gusts near 30 mph.

It will stay dry for the next few days with temperatures dropping back to the 40s for Sunday and Monday. Rain will return Wednesday and Thursday with highs climbing into the 60s.
