Adidas is making a recyclable shoe

(WISH) — Adidas is taking a closer look at what it means to be sustainable.

The athletic wear company has developed a recyclable running shoe. The company said it has worked to get the design just right for 10 years.

Once consumers wear out the running shoes, Adidas can repurpose them into more shoes.

The shoe is called “FUTURECRAFT.LOOP” and it is made of thermoplastic polyurethane. The all-purpose material ensures recyclability.

Obviously, the company would need to get the shoes returned in order for the process to work.

For now, about 200 people are giving the product a try. If all goes well, you could see the shoes on shelves by 2021.
